Wood finish powder coating proves its longevity

Encasement chose Powdertech’s wood finish, which replicates a grained wood appearance. This powder coating on aluminium columns has the benefits of very low maintenance of the coating and the high strength to weight ration of aluminium. This solution was also more cost-effective when compared to manufacturing and installing wooden columns of up to 12.8 in height. The aluminium casings are made form 3mm thick aluminium and are stacked and joined with infill strips that are almost invisible.

Nearly a decade later, our director, Richard Besant, returned to see how the installation had aged. Nine years of British weather, fly-posting, shopping trolleys, general bumps and scrapes—and let’s be honest, the occasional dog-related indignity—and the Wood Finish still looked remarkably fresh. The colour, grain definition, and surface integrity remain as impressive as the day they were applied.
