The Requirement
The new Broadmarsh Centre is a key part of Nottingham’s plan to become the UK’s first carbon-neutral city. The site will have natural green spaces at its heart and will provide walkways based on a centuries-old city street plan to reconnect key parts of the city. Extruded aluminium solar shading and screening systems covering needed a finish that would chime with the green spaces and carbon neutral aspirations. Leonard Design Architects were engaged as the 'concept' architects and retained as technical advisor to Nottingham County Council for the duration of the project. SGP Architects were engaged as the 'delivery' architects.
