The Requirement

Montgomery House is a residential property in the Westminster district of London. From June 2021 until September 2022 a full refurbishment of the building was undertaken, including the replacement of old timber battens and panels on the exterior tower and balcony elevations of the building.

The design intention was to maintain the appearance of the wooden cladding on the original building whilst meeting the requirement to meet the relevant reaction to fire rating, A2, S1-d0. This project was undertaken in the shadow of the Grenfell Tower disaster.
