Gramercy Tower is a mixed residential-led development, set within the heart of Cardiff's emerging South Central district of re-development.
As the tallest residential building in the city, CW Architect’s were very keen to give the tower a distinct appearance with durable materials and ease of cleaning so that it would remain looking smart over the years. Materials used on the building exterior would need to conform to fire reaction rating A2-s1,do.
Powdertech’s Evolution/Rust collection of powder coating finishes meets all of these requirements. From a selection of finishes giving the appearance of rusted metal or Corten steel, the client chose ‘Peat Fire’. This finish will stay put on the metal and not leach on to surrounding surfaces after rain, unlike Corten. Powdertech coated 2000sq metres of aluminium cassette rainscreen cladding which now adorn the building to stunning effect.
